Many Disney World hotels immerse their guests in the whims and fantasy of Disney magic with the help of extraordinary odes to Disney characters. However, if you are looking for a more relaxing resort with just a little pixie dust, then Disney’s Old Key West Resort may be for you.

So, how does this luxury villa resort compare to other Disney hotels? Who should stay there? Read on for everything you need to know about this sun-drenched resort.

Due to Covid-19 health and safety recommendations, the Old Key West Resort and Disney World are currently undergoing many modifications. As a luxury resort with many convenient facilities, most of the products of the Old Key West Resort are still open and available to guests. Having said that, you can still expect some changes.

Services and facilities temporarily modified or unavailable include:

It is important to note that some of the services outlined above, such as Disney's Magic Express, are being completely cancelled. At the same time, guest privileges such as Extra Magic Hours and FastPass will be replaced by new products, including early theme park admission time, night theme park time extension and Lightning Lane.

As a Disney luxury villa resort, guests of Old Key West will be able to take advantage of early entry into the theme park and extended night theme park time. Early entry into the theme park allows guests of the Disney Hotel to enter any theme park 30 minutes earlier, while the extended night theme park opening hours allow guests to stay late at a specific theme park on specific days of the week.

Keep in mind that as the pandemic continues, the availability of amenities may change as the situation improves or deteriorates. We recommend that you refer to the My Disney Experience app, visit the Disney website, or talk to old Key West actors for the latest information after arriving at the resort.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort may be 390 miles from Key West, the southernmost point of the continental United States, but this quaint hotel brings the spirit of the Conch Republic to Walt Disney World. Old Key West is located in the imaginary town of Conch Apartments, fascinated by its Victorian-style soft architecture, rustling palm trees and waterfront views.

Like any other hotel worth checking out in the Florida Keys, the rooms in Old Key West are laid back and comfortable with a living atmosphere. In the studio, dark wood furniture is illuminated by aquamarine walls, reminiscent of crystal sea water. At the same time, the one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas use mixed sand tones, dotted with turquoise and sea glass blue.

If the whitewashed woods and seaside style are not enough to suggest the resort’s coastal inspiration, then artistic flavors such as fish pattern pillows and shell-themed artworks can definitely play a role. Because this is Disney, there is also a little fairy dust in the subtle beach art form with Mickey and Minnie as the protagonists.

In general, all studios and villas in Old Key West are equipped with the following facilities: flat-screen TV, DVD player, bathtub, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, coffee machine, toaster, microwave, high feet Chair, in-room safe, telephone with voice mail and free Wi-Fi.

To keep the water bottle cool, guests staying in the Old Key West Studio can use the room’s mini refrigerator, and guests staying in the Old Key West Villa can use the full-size refrigerator in the fully equipped kitchen. The villa is also equipped with a whirlpool bathtub and an in-room washing machine and dryer.

Disney Key West Resort Rates

Old Key West at Walt Disney World touted its convenient location close to Disney Springs and some of the largest Disney Vacation Club villas. In other words, the price of old Key West is not exactly what you call cheap. Even the smallest resort rooms, luxury studio apartments, are still close to $450 per night during the off-season.

That being said, your actual room rate will vary—sometimes even every night—based on a variety of factors, including how much space you need and your travel dates. For all budget travelers there, traveling in the off-season will get the lowest price. In contrast, bravely facing the busy Christmas season crowd will not only test your personal bubbles and patience. It will also increase your nightly room rate by $100 or more.

The Old Key West Studio is the most affordable option in Old Key West, with prices ranging from US$400 in the middle of the off-season to a low US$700 in the peak season. The most expensive room type is the old Key West three-bedroom villa. The price started at mid-$1,800 and climbed to nearly $2,900 during the holidays.

Here are some examples of price ranges by starting price, applicable to certain room types in old Key West hotels:

As for DVC points, the old Key West luxury studios range from 10 holiday points per night in the off-season to 26 points for winter holidays. One-bedroom villas cost between 20 and 50 cents, two-bedroom villas are between 27 and 64 cents, and large old Key West villas are between 46 and 107 cents.

Old Key West Resort Facilities

The luxury resorts of Disney World provide enough facilities to keep guests busy throughout the holiday, and Old Key West is no exception. From hidden gem restaurants to one of the best Disney World resort pools, you will find things to make kids and adults alike happy.

Although you won’t find as many dining options in resorts as Disney Polynesian Village or Animal Kingdom Lodge (sorry, there are no pirate or beach rover-themed Disney dinner shows), the old Key West resort does have quite a few Seductive choice. Due to the resort’s island inspiration, the Old Key West restaurant is perfect for diners who crave American classics, fresh ingredients and tropical flavors.

ideas

Good's Food to Go, the fast-service restaurant in Old Key West, is a convenient stop for guests going to the theme park or those who are too tired to wait for a complete meal. Here you will find American favorites, which include some Florida Keys-style dishes, such as mango ketchup on grilled pork sandwiches. Eat Mickey waffles in the morning and burgers in the afternoon. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner

Grumbling suitcase of wine and spirits

The Gurgling Suitcase is the resort’s lounge, taking inspiration from Key West’s beachside bars. Drinks are the highlight here, but if you feel hungry, you can also taste some of the Olivia's To Go menu, such as Key West’s classic Conch Fritters. There are also non-alcoholic cocktails, specialty cocktails and other bar favorites such as beer, wine and cider. Serves lunch, dinner and late night drinks

Olivia's Café is a hidden gem in Disney World, a good place to enjoy tropical American cuisine. As the story goes, Olivia likes to cook, and the delicious aroma of her food often drifts from her hut to the sidewalk, hitting the nose (and stomach) of hungry, unsuspecting passers-by. Fortunately, Olivia likes to share, first inviting locals and out-of-towners to her home to eat her Key West food, and then into her own cafe.

This table service restaurant and Olivia's Café to Go serve a wide range of Florida-style cuisine, from crab cakes, eggs Benedict and prawns and grits for brunch to the southernmost buttermilk chicken and conch fritters for lunch and dinner. And, of course, there must be room for Key Lime Tart. Serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner

Turtle Shack Poolside Snacks is a seasonal pool bar, adjacent to one of the resort’s leisure pools, as well as playgrounds and playgrounds. This counter-service snack bar serves home-cooked bar food on Duval Street. Think of pizza, salad, nachos and mango rum barbecue pulled pork sandwiches. It offers non-alcoholic beverages such as slush, soda and milk, as well as spirits such as beer, cider and frozen cocktails. Serves lunch and drinks

Without a refreshing swim, a trip to the Florida Keys would not be complete. Fortunately, there are four different old Key West swimming pools to choose from. Sandcastle Pool is a special pool in Old Key West. Oh, what a magnificent pool it is. As the name suggests, a huge sand castle—a 125-foot-long water slide through it—is located in the center of the swimming pool. A group of decorative dolphins sprays water, and there is even a lighthouse with a dry sauna. In general, this is a treat. There is also a whirlpool spa and children’s pool.

Looking for a more hidden place? Three leisure pools are scattered around the sprawling resorts in the communities of Old Turtle Pond, South Point and Miller's Road. Most importantly, each swimming pool also has its own whirlpool spa, suitable for those who wish to relax in a warm place.

Hanging out in a theme park or water park is obviously the highlight of any Walt Disney World tour, but there are also many interesting things to do at your hotel instead of the swimming pool. Children will go crazy with their favorite Disney movies in the open air showing movies under the stars and s'mores by the old Key West campfire. For the excitement more suitable for children, there are two different playrooms, electric eels and flying fish, and three playgrounds.

Looking for something the whole family can do together? You will definitely find it in Old Key West. Rent a Surrey bike or regular bike to explore one of Disney’s golf courses without paying high green fees, take a guided fishing trip to find bass or confront family and friends in basketball or tennis matches or volleyball. Or, head to Conch Flats Community Hall to participate in various activities such as table football, video games, arts and crafts, table tennis, billiards and shuffleboard. You can even view the DVD to watch it in your room.

If all these friendly matches are not enough to keep your exercise program going, don’t be afraid. The old Key West gym has everything you need for daily fitness, from treadmills and elliptical machines to free weights and equipment. You can also exercise outdoors on the 1.37-mile running path.

One of the benefits of living in a luxury Disney villa resort is being able to do a little (or a lot) cooking in the kitchenette or kitchen of the room. Therefore, if you plan to make your own food while living in Old Key West, you will most likely visit the Conch Flats General Store. This convenient location sells groceries and groceries as well as hotel logo swag and other Disney souvenirs.
