Youngstown - At 7:29 pm on Monday night, a car carrying a woman was shot outside a business in the 700 block of Mahoning Avenue west of the city center. She was not injured.

The police recovered 34 cartridge cases normally used for assault rifles.

The 27-year-old woman said that when she heard what she thought was fireworks, she was about to drive away from the company and return to Michigan after recording music at the company. Then she realized that her car had been hit by a bullet.

The woman said that she saw someone near the fence on Marshall Street and believed that the person was wearing a red shirt. Police said her car had multiple bullet holes in the windshield, rear window and front fender. Both driver's tires are flat.

Police said that 34 used cartridge cases and two bullets were found where the woman saw the man standing.

The owner of the company said that his property was also shot. The gate and fence were crashed, and a trailer was parked on the property. A company representative told the police that there were also bullet holes on the exterior wall of a nearby company.

When the police entered, they found bullet holes in windows, wall doors and glass partitions.

Not long ago, at 6:59 pm, gunshots were reported in the 800 and 900 blocks of Winona Drive on the south side. No one was injured.

The police were called to Winona Drive to shoot and learned that the shooting came from the end of the street. They were told that a maroon car was driving east along Winona Drive towards Glenwood Avenue.

A witness said that a house on the north side of Winona Drive was hit by multiple gunshots from a brown sport utility vehicle driving east.

The police found five used cartridge cases in the middle of the street in front of another house. The caliber of the cartridge case was the same as the caliber of the cartridge case later found on Mahonin Avenue.

A resident said that he believed that the person who fired the gun had confused his home with other people's homes. He said that no one in his family was injured, and he did not know whether the house was damaged.

The police investigation is ongoing.
