Diana Everitt and Angela Schwartz held a raffle for the family of 9-year-old Emma Werner. Emma Werner ( Emma Werner) died in a car accident on Halloween weekend.

All money raised from the basket lottery will be donated to Emma's family.

Anyone wishing to donate a basket can contact Schwartz at 806-319-7618 or Everitt at 570-620-6208. Donations should be handed in before December 8th to allow time for organization.

The lucky draw will be held at noon on December 11th at Indian Mountain Rod and Gun Club Road in Kresgeville.

Anyone who wants to buy a quart of peppers from Effort UMC but has not yet placed an order must do so today. The church phone number is 717-629-1890.

The pickup date is after each service this Sunday.

Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville is hosting a free drive-through dinner again today from 5 to 6 pm

Eldred Township supervisors will meet at the Municipal Building on Kunkletown Road at 7 o'clock tonight.

The quilts made by the Love team of the Western Pocono Women’s Club will have a meeting at members’ homes from 9.30 am to 3 pm on Thursday to make quilts with Christmas-themed fabrics, which will be donated to Meals on Wheels customers.

The PVMS Student Union Food Event will end on Thursday.

These donations will be donated to the Pleasant Valley Christian Network Food Pantry.

Happy Valley Intermediate PTO is scheduled to hold a meeting from 4pm to 5pm on Thursday.

From 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Thursday, the West End Missions Department will host a dinner at the Church of Our Lady of Peace in Broadheadsville, only for takeaway.

Remind the seniors attending the Chestnuthill Senior Citizenship Center at Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville to call manager Donna Riedel at 570-242-6770 to let her know that they have ordered a hot lunch for this Friday and next Wednesday. They are: garlic broccoli and shells on Friday, and sausage next Wednesday.

The center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and the next day.

The Education Committee of Happy Valley School District will hold a meeting at the school district office at 7pm on Thursday.

The West End Little League will open for monthly community meetings at the Chestnuthill Township Park building in Brodheadsville at 7:30 pm on Thursday.

The honor guard from U.S. Legion Post 927 practiced on the calendar at 6 pm on Thursday.

The Touch of Family Fall Sports will be held from Friday to Sunday.

The Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville will host the 40th Annual Handicraft Fair from 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday.

The West End Parks and Open Space Committee will host a bingo event at Chestnuthill Park, 715, Highway 221, Broadheadsville, starting at 6:30 pm on Friday.

Players can start the weekend on a fun Friday night. They are also invited to bring friends and family.

There will be special dishes and refreshments.

The event will follow current COVID-19 health guidelines. Encourage wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. If they feel uncomfortable, people are asked to stay at home.

On Saturday, Legion Knights of the Gilbert American Legion will sponsor the Patriot Ball at the Center 100 Hotel, 7736 Adrienne Drive, Breiningsville.

Cocktail time starts at 6 pm, and dinner starts at 7 pm. The feature is DJ Slacker. Formal dress required.

The Church of Our Lady of Peace will celebrate the talents of the children of the Little Angel Choir at a service at 8 am this Sunday.

During the service this Sunday, St. Peter's UMC in Saylorsburg will focus on Thanksgiving Sunday.

On November 24, the church will host a community Thanksgiving service with the United Methodist Effort, McMichaels and Neola congregations at 7pm

Everyone of any denomination is invited to participate in this service.

A special holiday survival lecture will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on Sunday at St. Peter's United University. It aims to help those who are grieving during the difficult holiday transition.

James Osinski, an evangelist preaching to college students, will deliver a speech at the Middle Creek Christian Church in Cresguiville at 10:30 am on Sunday morning

He received the support of the church and other supporters and became a member of the Pennsylvania Christian Campus Ministry DiscipleMakers.

Osinski currently serves students at Kutztown University, teaching and encouraging them to become disciples of God.

There will be a refreshment time after the service.

Blue Ridge Hook & Ladder Fire Company Auxiliary will host craft fairs and baking sales from 9 am to 3 pm on Sunday.

There will be crafts, including handmade knitted sweaters, crocheted items, natural soaps, family gifts, Liztech Pins and many other items.

You can take photos with Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In addition, Auxiliary will host its Spiderweave quilt raffle, bake sale and lunch.

The fire station is located on Highway 115 opposite Ye Olde Saylors Inn in Sellersburg.
