Ray Kunnath, 84, of Clinton Township, MI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21st at 12:57 p.m. surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born in Hamtramck, MI on January 6th, 1938, to George and Rose (Nydza) Kunnath. Both preceded him in death. Ray is survived by his adoring wife Joyce (Himmel) Kunnath, and his brother George Kunnath. Also surviving are his beloved children Karen (Bob) Taylor, Michelle Duval, Becki Kunnath, Patrick (Sarah) Kunnath, Stacy (Gerry) Jacobson and Mike (Lona) Himmel. Other surviving relatives include his grandchildren Kate (Matt) Mulford, Jenn (Nate) Pelosi, Cory and Brittany Duval, Lauren and Erika Himmel, Hannah Jacobson, Jenna and Alyssa Clark, along with his great grandchildren Landen and Madelyn Brown, Jennifer Mulford, and Everette and Stanley Taylor. Ray provided for his family by earning his way through the ranks at Valeron Tool and Die Corp until his retirement in 1992. Ray had the natural ability to fix and or build anything. He also enjoyed many different hobbies throughout his life. They included woodworking, restoring classic Mustangs, boating, fishing as well as lovingly designing and hand making an eclectic variety of different items. These gifts of love were given to family and friends and will provide fond memories of Ray for years to come. Most recently, Ray made and sold jewelry from the shells and items he collected himself on the beaches of Florida where he and his wife wintered every year. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, October 21, 2022 at St. Paul of Tarsus, 41300 Romeo Plank Rd. Clinton Township, MI 48038.
