Melba "Kitty" Ellafare Schwarz, age 91, of Austin, Texas passed away peacefully in the company of her family on June 1, 2022. Kitty was born on November 14, 1930, at a farmhouse in Seguin, Texas. Melba "Kitty" Ellafare Schwarz, age 91, of Austin, Texas passed away peacefully in the company of her family on June 1, 2022. Kitty was born on November 14, 1930, at a farmhouse in Seguin, Texas.As a child, Kitty and her siblings moved to Austin. Kitty married the love of her life, William "Bill" C. Schwarz in 1974. After 24 years, in 1990, she retired as a Photo Technician from the Texas Highway Department. In retirement, Kitty and Bill spent most of their time traveling the US and Canada in their 5th Wheel RV. One of their favorite places was Niagara Falls, New York. For over 30 years they were members of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pflugerville. Kitty was the sweetest lady to walk the Earth. She was always welcoming, willing to host, laughing and just wanted to make you smile. Kitty loved casinos, dominoes, garage sales and crafts. Collecting seashells in the ocean breeze was a favorite pastime. Kitty was most proud of her family, especially her "grandbabies." Kitty is survived by her husband, Bill, of 47 years; his daughter Monica and husband Gene Durand; grandson Chanse Durand and wife Stacy; great granddaughters Macie and Marleigh; granddaughter Emily Frey Bell and husband Dustin; great grandson Darren; grandson Robert "Bobby" H. Frey, Jr. and wife Sarah; great grandchildren Genevieve, McKenna and Hunter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Kitty was preceded in death by her parents, Metta Larison McDonald and Arthur Larison; her son, Robert H. Frey; his father, Robert C. Frey; her sisters, Lois Glenewinkel, Iris Barker, Mary Carroll, Emma "Cindy" Shelton as well as brothers Arthur, Elmer, and Franklin Larison. Special thanks to Tech Ridge Oaks Memory Care and CHOICE Hospice for their genuine love and care for our Grandmother. Contributions can be made in her memory to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pflugerville. (stjohnrichland.org) Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7, from 5-7 pm, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery in Pflugerville. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 8 at 10 am, at St John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pflugerville. Graveside to follow at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville.
